Pattern Description:
This amigurumi heart pattern starts by creating two separate “humps” for the top of the heart, which are then joined together. The design incorporates strategically placed decreases to form a perfect heart shape.
The project is described as an easy-to-make heart crochet pattern, suitable for home decor or as a gift for a child.

Instructions for Making the Easy Crochet Heart Amigurumi Pattern:

Follow these steps carefully to crochet your amigurumi heart:
Top of Heart (Make 2)
You will begin by creating two identical “humps” for the top of the heart.
- With your main color yarn, create a magic ring.
- R1: Work 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring (6 stitches). Work in continuous rounds.
- R2: Work 2 sc in each stitch around (12 stitches).
- R3: sc in the next stitch, 2 sc in the next stitch. Repeat from around (18 stitches).
- R4-5: Work sc around for two rounds (18 stitches).
- For the first hump only: Slip stitch to the next stitch, then fasten off, leaving a 6-inch strand of yarn for sewing later.
- For the second hump: Repeat R1 through R5. After completing R5, do NOT slip stitch or fasten off. Mark the last stitch of R5 with a stitch marker, and then continue directly to the joining round.
Joining the Humps (R6)
This round connects the two humps into a single piece:
- R6: Pick up the first hump piece, ensuring the last stitch of that round is facing you. Work a single crochet into the first stitch of that round. Crucially, make sure to leave the long fastened-off yarn strand from the first hump hanging free on the outside of your work, positioned between where the two humps will join. Continue to single crochet around the remaining 17 stitches in the first piece.
- Next, single crochet into the first stitch of the second hump (the one still on your hook). Continue to single crochet in every stitch around the second hump.
- At the end of R6, you will have 36 stitches, and both pieces will be joined.
- A small hole will form between the two humps where they join. This is expected and will be stitched closed later using the long yarn tail from the first hump. For now, let the strand hang free.
Body Decreases (R7-R15)
Now you will begin shaping the heart with strategically placed decreases:
- R7: sc in the next 4 stitches, then (sc2tog). Repeat from around (30 stitches).
- R8: sc around (30 stitches).
- R9: (sc2tog), sc in the next 13 stitches. Repeat from once (28 stitches).
- R10: (sc2tog), sc in the next 5 stitches. Repeat from around (24 stitches).
- R11: sc in the next 2 stitches, then (sc2tog), sc in the next 4 stitches. Repeat from around. Finish by working sc in the last 2 stitches of the round (20 stitches).
- R12: (sc2tog), sc in the next 3 stitches. Repeat from around (16 stitches).
- R13: (sc2tog), sc in the next 2 stitches. Repeat from around (12 stitches).
Stuffing and Finishing
- Closing the Gap: At this point, thread the long, fastened-off strand from the first hump onto your tapestry needle. Carefully sew the small hole between the two humps closed. Weave in the end on the inside of the heart.
- Stuffing: Begin to stuff the heart with fiberfill (poly fil) and continue to add stuffing as you complete the remaining rows. Make sure to stuff firmly enough to maintain the heart shape.
- R14: sc in the next 2 stitches, then (sc2tog). Repeat from around (9 stitches).
- R15: sc in the next stitch, then (sc2tog). Repeat from * around (6 stitches). Continue to stuff the heart the rest of the way, ensuring it holds its shape.
- R16: (sc2tog) around (3 stitches).
- Fasten off the yarn. Using your tapestry needle, weave the tail through the last three stitches, cinch them closed tightly, and then weave in any remaining ends to secure the heart.
