Instructions for Making the Flower Pop Square Pattern:
Round 1 (R1):

- Create a magic ring (MR).
- Into the ring, work 3 double crochets (dc), chain 3 (ch 3), repeat this 4 times total.
- This forms 4 shells separated by chain-3 spaces. Close with a slip stitch (sl st) to the first dc.
- Stitch count: 12 dc, 4 chain-3 spaces.
Round 2 (R2):

- Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch).
- In the next 3 dc, work 1 single crochet (sc) each.
- In each chain-3 space from R1, work a corner: (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc).
- Repeat around 4 times.
- Close with sl st to the first sc.
- Stitch count: 28 sc, 4 chain-2 spaces.
Round 3 (R3):

- Slip stitch into the next sc (on top of the second dc from round 1).

- Slip stitch into the 3rd dc of the 5-dc shell.
- Work dc in the same stitch, ch 3, skip 2 dc and 1 sc, dc in next sc, then in the ch-2 space work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), dc in next sc, ch 3, skip 1 sc and 2 dc.
- Repeat 4 times around and join.
- Stitch count: 28 dc, 8 chain-3 spaces, 4 chain-2 spaces.
Round 5 (R5):

- Single crochet in the chain-3 space, chain 5, skip 2 dc, single crochet in next dc, in ch-2 space work (sc, ch 2, sc), single crochet in next dc, chain 5, skip 2 dc, single crochet in next chain-3 space, chain 1, skip 1 dc. Repeat from to four times.
- Note: The first sc here is made without chaining 1 to start, and at the last repeat, skip chaining 1 before joining the round.
- Stitch count: 24 sc, 8 chain-5 spaces, 4 chain-1 spaces, 4 chain-2 spaces.
Round 6 (R6):

- In the same space as join, work dc in chain-1 space, ch 3, skip sc, 3 dc in chain-5 space, dc in next 2 sc, in ch-2 space work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), dc in next 2 sc, 3 dc in chain-5 space, ch 3, skip sc.
- Repeat 4 times and join.

Round 7 (R7):

- Work dc in dc, 2 dc in chain-3 space, dc in next 7 dc, in ch-2 space work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in chain-3 space.
- Repeat 4 times and join.
- Stitch count: 92 dc, 4 chain-2 spaces.
Finishing:

Fasten off the yarn, weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle, and block your square to achieve a neat, flat finish.
