Ammonite Wrist Warmers

Materials Needed & Measurements:

  • Crochet Hook: 4mm
  • Yarn: 50g of Scheepjes Stonewashed or alternative DK yarn (approx. 60g used)
  • Buttons: 2 x 17mm

Measurements:

  • Finished Size: 15cm (6 inches) long, 10cm (4 inches) wide (flat).

Abbreviations:

  • Ch = Chain
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Sc2tog = Single Crochet 2 Together (decrease)
  • St(s) = Stitch(es)
  • Turn = Turn your work to begin the next row

Stitching Instructions for Making the Ammonite Wrist Warmers Pattern:

Row 14 – Decrease Row 2:

  • Ch 1, turn.
  • Sc in the next 3 sts, sc2tog.
  • Repeat from to across (35 sc).

Row 15 – Basic Sc Row:

  • Ch 1, turn.
  • Sc in each stitch across (35 sc).

Row 16 – Decrease Row 3:

  • Ch 1, turn.
  • Sc in the next 2 sts, sc2tog.
  • Repeat from to across (27 sc).

Row 17 – Final Sc Row:

  • Ch 1, turn.
  • Sc in each stitch across (27 sc).

Row 18 – Thumb Opening:

  • Ch 1, turn.
  • Sc in the first st, ch 1, skip the next st, sc in the last st.

Finishing:

  • Fold the piece into a rectangle.
  • Sew the sides together, leaving a small gap for the thumb.
  • Attach buttons to the wrist warmers (use a sewing needle and yarn or thread).
  • Weave in all loose ends.
