Instructions for Making the Cherry Blossoms Crochet Pattern:

Here are the detailed instructions for the Cherry Blossom Flower:

Make the Main Flower Petals:

  • Row 1: Begin by using 2 strands of yarn together. Make a magic circle. Then, ch 3, and work 4dc into the centre of the magic circle. Finally, sl st into the first dc (NOT THE CH3). This completes Row 1 with a total of 5 stitches.
  • Row 2: To form the petals, ch3 (count as a dc). Create a dc puff stitch in the same stitch. Follow this with a ch3, and then sl st into the same stitch. Repeat the following sequence three more times: (sl st into the next st, ch3, dc puff stitch, ch3, sl st into the same stitch). After completing all repeats, fasten off & weave in your ends. This row will create a total of 5 petals.

Make the Stigma Motif

The central stigma motif provides a contrasting element to the flower:

  • Row 1 (Green Yarn): Using the green yarn, make a magic circle. Ch1, and then work 10sc into the centre. Sl st into the first sc. Pull the circle shut to tighten. Fasten off & weave in the ends. This row will result in a total of 10sc.
  • Row 2 (Contrasting Yarn): Attach your contrasting yarn (dark pink yarn) to any stitch. Ch2, then sl st into the 1st chain. Continue by repeating the following sequence eight times: sl st into the next st, picot (chain 2, sl st into 1st ch). After the repeats, sl st into the first st. Fasten off tie in one end & leave a long tail (approximately 30cm). This row will have a total of 10 picots.

Assembly

Once both the flower and the stigma motif are completed, they need to be joined. Using the long tail from the stigma, sew the stigma to the centre of the Crochet Cherry Blossom flower.
