Notes & Techniques

  • Turning Chains: Chain 2 (Ch 2) at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch. Always work the first stitch into the same stitch as the turning chain.
  • Custom Sizing:
    • To adjust width, chain any even number to start (this gives an odd stitch count).
    • To adjust length, repeat Rows 2-5 until you reach the desired measurement, ending on a repeat of Row 3 for the correct border setup.
  • Special Technique – Ch-1 “Eye”: This is the chain created after an Ehdc2tog or Ehdc3tog. It secures the cluster loops and forms the small “eye” space that will be worked into on following rows.
  • Special Technique – Starting in Previous Stitch: When instructed, begin an Ehdc3tog by inserting the hook first into the same stitch that completed the previous cluster before continuing into the next two stitches.
