Materials Needed & Measurements:
- Yarn: Sport weight acrylic yarn in white, light pink, dark pink, and red (optional brown for frosting).
- Hook: 2.5–3.5 mm
- Eyes: 4 mm safety eyes or flat-back black beads.
- Thread: Black and pink embroidery thread (for details and blush).
- Filling: Polyester fiberfill.
- Needle: Tapestry needle for sewing parts together.

- Insert safety eyes between R9 and R10, leaving 5 stitches between them.

- Stuff the head firmly.
- R14: dec around. (6) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Tentacles (Popcorn Stitch):
- Using dark pink yarn:
- R1: 8 sc in a magic ring. (8)
- R2: 2 sc in each st around. (16)
- Sl st to the next st, then make a popcorn stitch in the same st:
- ch 3 (counts as dc), 4 dc in the same st, remove the hook from the loop, insert it into the top of the first dc, grab the dropped loop, pull through, and ch 1 to secure.
- Skip 1 st, make a popcorn stitch in the next st, rep ** 6 more times.

Whipped Cream:
Using white yarn:
- Foundation Chain: ch 36.
- Work 2 sc in the second chain from the hook and in each remaining ch. (70)
- Leave a long tail for sewing.
- Roll the strip into a spiral shape like a rose and sew it together using a tapestry needle.
Cherry:
- Using red yarn:
- R1: 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- R2: sc in next st, 2 sc in the next st, rep ** around. (9)
- R3: sc in each st around. (9)
- R4:sc in next st, 1 dec in the next st, rep ** around. (6)
- Stuff the cherry firmly with fiberfill.
- Close the opening with a tapestry needle and leave a long tail for sewing.
Optional Frosting:
- Using brown yarn:

Assembling the Octopus Cupcake:
- Sew the tentacles to the base of the head.
- Attach the frosting (if used) to the top of the head.
- Place the whipped cream on top of the head and sew it securely.

- Embroider blush on the cheeks using pink thread for added charm.
