Stitching Instructions for Crochet Ugg Boots for Adults Pattern:

Start with the Sole of the Boot:

  • Foundation Row:
    • Using the 5.0 mm hook and Color A (Green), make a foundation chain with 26 stitches (or adjust the chain length to fit the size of the foot you’re making the boot for).
  • Row 1 (Right Side):
    • Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch here).
    • Work 1 DC (double crochet) into the 3rd chain from the hook and into each chain across. You should have 26 DC stitches by the end of the row.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 2:
    • Ch 1 (this does not count as a stitch), then work 1 Sc (single crochet) into the first stitch, and continue working 1 Sc into each stitch across.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 3:
    • Ch 2 (counts as the first DC), then work 1 DC into the next stitch and continue working 1 DC into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 4:
    • Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), work 1 Sc into the first stitch, then continue with 1 Sc into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 5:
    • Ch 2 (counts as the first DC), then work 1 DC into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.

Shape the Boot:

  • Row 6 (Determine the Right Side):
    • Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), work 1 Hdc (half double crochet) into the first stitch, and continue with 1 Hdc into each stitch across the row.
    • This row will create a visible ridge, marking the right side of the boot.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 7:
    • Ch 2 (counts as the first DC), then work 1 DC into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 8:
    • Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), work 1 Sc into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.

Start the Boot Sides:

  • Row 9:
    • Ch 2 (counts as the first DC), then work 1 DC into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 10:
    • Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), work 1 Sc into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 11:
    • Ch 2 (counts as the first DC), then work 1 DC into each stitch across the row.
    • Turn your work.

Decrease for Toe Shape:

  • Row 12 (Decreasing Row):
    • Ch 2 (counts as the first DC), then work DC2tog (double crochet two together) across the row until there are approximately 2 stitches left. To work a DC2tog, yarn over, insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over again and pull through (3 loops on your hook), yarn over again and pull through the first two loops, then yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops. Repeat this process for the rest of the row.
    • Turn your work.
  • Row 13 (Last Row for Toe Shaping):
    • Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), work Sc (single crochet) into the first stitch, then work Sc into each stitch across the row.

Decrease by skipping stitches at the beginning and end of the row to reduce the width slightly.

  • Turn your work.

Final Steps:

  • After finishing the last row, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
  • Fold the boot piece in half with the right side facing out, then use a yarn needle and the long yarn tail to sew up the side edges of the slipper. This will form the shape of the Ugg boot.
    • Sewing Tip: Use a whip stitch or mattress stitch for a seamless join, ensuring the stitches are even and neat. Be sure to line up the edges carefully to avoid any gaps.
  • Top Edging (Optional): To finish the top of the boot, you can add a Sc border for a neat edge.

Start with Ch 1, then work Sc around the entire top opening of the boot. If you prefer a cuff, you can crochet a few extra rows of Sc or Hdc around the top.

Repeat for the Second Boot:

  • Follow the same steps to create the second boot. Make sure to replicate the stitch counts and shaping to ensure both boots match in size and shape.
  • Weave in any loose ends with the yarn needle to secure the stitches.

Final Touches:

  • Optionally, you can add a decorative cuff, button, or pom-pom to the top of the boot for added flair.

You can also make the soles extra cozy by adding a cushioned insert or extra layers of yarn inside the sole for warmth.

Enjoy your cozy, handmade crochet Ugg boots!
