Stitching Instructions for Making the Fleece Teddy and Bunny Pattern:

Head (Bear & Bunny)

  • Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 1, and work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts).
  • Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
  • Rnd 3: 1 sc, inc (increase by working 2 sc in the next stitch) around (18 sts).
  • Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc (work 2 sc, then increase) around (24 sts).
  • Rnd 5-8: Sc around for 4 rounds (24 sts in each round). This creates the head’s shape.
  • Rnd 9: 2 sc, dec (decrease by working 2 sc together) around (18 sts).
  • Rnd 10: 1 sc, dec around (12 sts).
  • Rnd 11: Dec around (6 sts). Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Use the tail to sew up the opening and close the head, pulling the yarn tightly and weaving in any excess.

Body (Bear & Bunny)

  • Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 1, and work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts).
  • Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
  • Rnd 3: 1 sc, inc around (18 sts).
  • Rnd 4-6: Sc around for 3 rounds (18 sts per round). This gives the body its height.
  • Rnd 7: 2 sc, dec around (12 sts).
  • Rnd 8: Dec around (6 sts). Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Use the tail to sew the body to the head. Make sure to stuff the body with soft stuffing for a firm but squishy feel.

Ears (Bear & Bunny)

  • Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 1, and work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts).
  • Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
  • Rnd 3: 1 sc, inc around (18 sts).
  • Rnd 4: Sc around for 2 rounds (18 sts each round). This forms the ear’s structure.
  • Fasten off and leave a tail to sew the ear to the head.
  • Repeat for the second ear.

Arms (Bear & Bunny)

  • Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 1, and work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts).
  • Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
  • Rnd 3-4: Sc around for 2 rounds (12 sts per round). These rounds form the length of the arms.
  • Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Stuff the arms lightly.
  • Repeat for the second arm.

Legs (Bear & Bunny)

  • Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 1, and work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts).
  • Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
  • Rnd 3-5: Sc around for 3 rounds (12 sts per round). This gives the legs enough length to stand.
  • Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
  • Repeat for the second leg. Stuff the legs slightly.

Assembly

  • Attach the Head to the Body: Use the tail left from the head to sew the head securely to the body. Position the head centered on the body and stitch all the way around to secure it.
  • Attach the Arms and Legs:
    • Place the arms on either side of the body. Position them around halfway down the body, ensuring they’re symmetrical. Use the tail left from the arms to sew them onto the body securely.
    • For the legs, sew them to the bottom of the body. Position the legs evenly to ensure the toy can sit upright. Use the tail left from the legs to sew them firmly into place.
  • Attach the Ears: Position the ears at the top of the head. The bear’s ears should be placed toward the top, while the bunny’s ears can be positioned slightly lower on the head. Use the tail from the ears to sew them on securely.
  • Add Safety Eyes: Position the 18mm safety eyes on the head. For the bear, place them slightly below the center of the head, while for the bunny, place them just above the nose area. Attach them firmly, ensuring they are secure.
  • Stitch the Nose: Using the appropriate yarn (brown for the bear, purple for the bunny), stitch a small triangular nose just below the eyes. Use a few small stitches to create the nose shape.
  • Stuffing: Stuff the head, body, arms, and legs with soft stuffing. Use enough to make the teddy or bunny firm but still cuddly. Be sure to stuff evenly, especially around the neck and body to avoid lumps.
  • Final Touches: Once everything is sewn together, check for any gaps or loose stitches and secure them. Weave in any excess yarn to finish off your project.

Enjoy your cute, cuddly fleece teddy and bunny! They make perfect gifts or decorations and are sure to bring smiles wherever they go.
