  • Sew Tentacles to Body: Position each of the 8 tentacles evenly around the base of the body. Use a whip stitch or any preferred stitch to sew them securely.

Head:

  • Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, then work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts).

  • Rnd 3: 1 sc, inc around (18 sts).

  • Finish off: Cut the yarn, leaving a long end.
  • Attach the head to the body: Position the head at the top center of the body and sew it securely with a whip or mattress stitch. Ensure it’s attached firmly so it doesn’t shift.

Face (Optional):

  • Eyes: If you’re using safety eyes, attach them near the top center of the head for a cute look. Position them about 2-3 rows down from the top, spaced evenly apart.
  • Mouth: Use black yarn or embroidery floss to stitch a simple smile below the eyes, or create a fun expression if you like.

Assembly:

  • Attaching Tentacles:
    • Place the 8 tentacles evenly around the base of the body.
    • Use a yarn needle to sew each tentacle into place. Secure each tentacle tightly, so they don’t shift or fall off.
  • Attaching the Head:
    • Position the head on top of the body.
    • Use a whip stitch or mattress stitch to sew the head securely to the body. Take extra care to make sure the head is centered and firmly attached.

Finishing:

  • Mold the body: Carefully adjust the shape of the body and tentacles. If the body feels too soft or lumpy in places, add more stuffing.
  • Fluff the tentacles: Make sure the tentacles are soft and squishy by fluffing them up, adjusting the fiberfill if needed.
  • Weave in any loose ends: Using the yarn needle, weave in all loose ends from the body, tentacles, and head.

Optional Touches:

  • Add more details: You can add some fun details to your octopus like spots, stripes, or different textures using additional yarn colors.
  • Embroidered details: You can also stitch small accents on the body or around the tentacles to add texture or design elements.
