Stitching Instructions for Making the Kitchen Hand Towel Pattern:

Towel Bottom Section

  • Foundation Row:
    • Ch 51.
    • Dc into the 4th ch from the hook (the first 3 chains count as the first dc).
    • Work across the chain in this sequence:
      • (Dc in the next 3 sts, dec across the next 2 sts, dc in the next 3 sts, inc 2 dc into the next st) repeat the sequence 3 more times.
      • End the row with dc in the last st.

Buttonhole and Strap

  • Row 47:
    • Ch 1, turn.
    • Sc 2, ch 2, sk 1 st, sc 2.
    • Creates a buttonhole gap.
  • Row 48:
    • Ch 1, turn.
    • Work 5 dc into the ch-2 space to create a decorative edge.
    • Sl st into the last st. FO and weave in ends.

Finishing the Towel

  • Use the yarn needle to sew a wooden button securely at the top of the towel body where the strap will fold over.
  • Ensure the button fits snugly into the buttonhole.
