Instructions for Making the Last Summer Days Skirt Pattern:

Elastic Band Preparation (Steps 1 & 2)

  • Step 1: Prepare the elastic band. The elastic band should be 18 mm folded on the middle or smaller than 18 mm. The length of the elastic band must be approximately 4-5 cm less than your actual waist circumference. Standard elastic measurements are 60 (70, 80, 90, 100, 108, 112, 120) cm.
  • Step 2: Stitch the ends of the elastic band together to form a circle.

Waistband Construction (Rounds 1-3)

Start: Take the 3.5 mm crochet hook and the yarn, and make a sl st. Position the crochet hook in front of the elastic band and the yarn behind it. Bring the loop from back to front, yarn over, and ch 1.

  • R1: Start working sc around the elastic band until the entire circumference is completed. To execute the sc, go with the hook from front to back, under the elastic band, yarn over, and bring the loop from back to front, yarn over, and pull the yarn through both loops on the hook. The expected stitch count at the end of R1 is 234 (272, 312, 351, 390, 421, 436, 468) sts.
  • Stitch Adjustment: On the next R|, the number of sts must be adjusted to reach a multiple of 8. Increase by 6 (0, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4) sts on the next round.
  • R2: Change to the 4 mm crochet hook. Ch 3, then work 1 dc in each st (while increasing with the specified number of sts for your size).
  • R3: Ch 1, then repeat the following section: 1 sc, ch 2, skip 3, (1 dc, ch 1, 1dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next st, ch 2, skip 3. Repeat to the end of the round, then sl st with the 1st sc.

Main Skirt Body (Rounds 4 & 5 Repeat)

The main body of the skirt is worked by repeating R4 and R5.

  • R4: Ch 4, 1 dc in the same st, ch 2, 1 sc in the 2nd dc of the group of 3, ch 2. Then repeat the section: (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next sc, ch 2, 1 sc in the 2nd dc of 3, ch 2. Repeat to the end of the round. Finish the round with 1 dc in the first st, ch 1, and join with a sl st with the 3rd st of the starting ch.
  • R5: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st, ch 2, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next sc, ch 2. Then repeat the section: 1 sc in the 2nd dc of 3, ch 2, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next sc, ch 2. Repeat to the end of the round, then join with a sl st with the first dc.

Finishing

Repeat R4 and R5 until you have 45 rounds in total or until the desired length is reached. Weave in all ends using a sewing needle and then block the skirt to the specified final measurements.
