Pattern Instructions
Round 1:
- Start with a magic ring (or chain 4 and connect with a sl st to form a ring).
- Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), work 11 more dc into the ring.
- Attach with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3. (12 dc total)
Round 2:
- Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), dc in the next st, ch 1; repeat from to around.
- Combine with a sl st to the 3rd ch of beginning ch-4. (12 dc, 12 ch-1 spaces)
Round 3:
- Sl st to the first ch-1 space, ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in the same space.
- 2 dc in the next ch-1 space; repeat from to around.
- Connect with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3. (24 dc)
Round 4:
- Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), skip the next dc, dc in the next dc, ch 1; repeat from to around.
- Bond with a sl st to the 3rd ch of the beginning ch-4. (24 dc, 24 ch-1 spaces)
Round 5:
- Sl st to the first ch-1 space, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in the same space.
- 3 dc in the next ch-1 space; repeat from to around.
- Link with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3. (72 dc)
Round 6:
- Ch 1, sc in the same st, ch 5, skip the next 2 dc, sc in the next dc; repeat from to around.
- Join with a sl st to the first sc. (24 ch-5 loops)
Round 7:
- Sl st into the first ch-5 space, ch 1, sc in the same space, ch 5, sc in the next ch-5 space.

- Merge with a sl st to the first sc.

- Unite with a sl st to the first sc.
Round 11:
- Sl st into the first ch-5 space, ch 3 (counts as dc), 8 dc in the same space.

Round 12:
- Ch 1, sc in the same st, ch 9, skip the next 8 dc, sc in the next dc, ch 9, skip the next 8 dc; repeat from to around.

Round 13:
- Sl st into the first ch-9 space, ch 1, sc in the same space, ch 7, sc in the next ch-9 space.

- Join with a sl st to the first sc.
Round 14:
- Sl st into the first ch-7 space, ch 3 (counts as dc), 10 dc in the same space.

- Combine with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3. (264 dc)
Round 15:
- Ch 1, sc in the same st, ch 5, skip the next dc, sc in the next dc; repeat from to around.
- Merge with a sl st to the first sc. (264 ch-5 loops)
Round 16:
- Sl st into the first ch-5 space, ch 1, sc in the same space, ch 4, sc in the next ch-5 space; repeat from to around.
- Connect with a sl st to the first sc.
Round 17 (Final Round):
- Sl st into the first ch-4 space, ch 1, sc in the same space, ch 3 (forms a picot), sc in the same ch-4 space.
- Sc in the next ch-4 space, ch 3 (picot), sc in the same space; repeat from to around.
- Join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing Touches:
- Block the mandala gently by pinning it to the desired size (36 cm in diameter) and lightly steam or mist with water. Let it dry to maintain shape.
