Instructions for Making the Aviana Feather Tube Top and The Glitz Peekaboo Skirt Pattern:

Constructing the Core Garment

  • Sew Front Panels: Begin by sewing the Front Side panels to both sides of the Front Center panel.
  • Pressing Curved Areas: Make small clips around the curved area of the seams. Once clipped, press the seam allowance using a Dressmakers Ham.
  • Sew Back Panels: Sew the Back Side panels to the Back Center panels.
  • Joining Front and Back: Join the front and back pieces together by sewing the Back Sides to the corresponding Front Sides.
  • Joining Main Fabric and Lining: Join the main fabric and the lining together by sewing along both the top and the bottom edges. It is important to leave the sides open at this stage so that the garment can be turned right side out.

Attaching the Feather Trim and Finishing

  • First Row of Feathers: Begin the process of adding the feathers by sewing the trim all around the top edge of the garment.
  • Adding Subsequent Rows: Continue adding several rows of feather trim. Sew these rows approximately $\mathbf{1^{\prime\prime}\text{ to }2^{\prime\prime}}$ apart until the entire garment is full of feather coverage.
  • Back Closure and Finishing: To finish the back ends, first fold in the seam allowance. Next, top stitch along this folded edge. Finally, thread a hand needle to sew the necessary hook and eyes for the closure.

How To Sew The Glitz Peekaboo Skirt Free Sewing Pattern:

The Glitz Peekaboo Skirt is a dazzling, straight skirt that features a Metallic Platinum Glitter Tulle base with a Diamond Glitter Guipure Lace overlay. It uses the pattern MDF410.

Constructing the Skirt Base

  • Sew Side Seams: Sew the front and back pieces together at the side seams. Be sure to leave the right side open at the top where the notch is designated for the zipper installation.
  • Joining Main Fabric and Lining at Waistline: Join the main fabric and the lining by sewing them together precisely at the waistline.
  • Understitching the Lining: Under stitch the lining by sewing the seam allowance down to the lining fabric. This stitching should be done near the seam.

Installing the Zipper and Hemming

  • Installing the Zipper: To install the zipper, begin by sewing it only to the main fabric. Then, fold the lining seam allowance inward. Use a hand stitch to attach the lining fabric to the zipper tape.
  • Finishing Hem: To finish the garment, you must hem around the bottom edge of each skirt individually.
