  • Round 1:
    • Make 6 sc into the magic ring.
    • Pull the tail of the yarn to tighten the ring.
    • Join with a sl st to the first sc to close the round. This will create the base of the snuggle sack.
  • Round 2:
    • Ch 1, sc in the same stitch, then work 2 sc into each stitch around (12 stitches).
    • Join with a sl st to the first sc to close the round.
  • Round 3:
    • Ch 1, sc in the same stitch, then sc in the next stitch. Repeat the pattern: 2 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in the next stitch around (18 stitches).
    • Join with a sl st to the first sc to close the round.
  • Round 4:
    • Ch 1, sc in the same stitch, then sc in the next two stitches. Repeat the pattern: 2 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in the next two stitches around (24 stitches).
    • Join with a sl st to the first sc to close the round.
  • Round 5-10:
    • Work sc in each stitch around (24 stitches), sl st to join at the end of each round.
    • Continue these rounds until the body reaches the desired length (this will create the main portion of the snuggle sack).

Creating the Dino Tail:

  • Using Lemon Lime yarn, change colors to create the tail.
  • Round 1:
    • Attach the Lemon Lime yarn to the last stitch of the body with a sl st.
    • Ch 2, hdc in the same stitch. Continue working hdc in each stitch around (24 stitches).
    • Join with a sl st to the first hdc to close the round.
  • Round 2-6:
    • Ch 2, hdc in the same stitch, hdc in the next stitch. Repeat the pattern: 2 hdc in the next stitch, 1 hdc in the next stitch around (36 stitches).
    • Join with a sl st to the first hdc to close the round.
    • Continue these rounds, working the tail to the desired length.
  • Round 7 (Finishing the Tail):
    • Work dc in each stitch around (36 stitches). This will give a nice point to the tail.
    • Sl st to join to the first dc.

Shaping the Snuggle Sack:

  • Now that the body and tail are complete, continue to add any decorative features like spikes or accents using the Lemon Lime yarn.
  • Attach additional stitches or motifs using sc or hdc to form the features of a dino (spikes, eyes, etc.).
  • Weave in all loose ends using the tapestry needle.

Final Assembly:

  • Fold the completed snuggle sack in half, positioning the tail at the back.
  • sl st or sc around the opening to close it, leaving a small hole for the child’s legs to slide through.
