Cloud 9 Slippers Crochet Pattern

Stitching Instructions for Making the Cloud 9 Slippers Crochet Pattern:

Round 1:

  • Ch 15 (17, 19): Create a foundation chain with the specified number of stitches (15 for Small, 17 for Medium, 19 for Large).
  • In the 3rd Ch from the hook, make 2Dc: Yarn over, insert your hook into the 3rd chain from the hook, yarn over again, pull through, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining 2 loops. Repeat to complete 2 double crochets (Dc) in the same stitch.
  • Dc to the end until 1 Ch remains: Double crochet into each chain until one stitch remains at the end.
  • In the last Ch, make 6Dc: Double crochet 6 times into the last chain. This creates the curve of the slipper.
  • Working around the other side of the chain, Dc until the last Ch: Now work in the opposite direction along the other side of the chain, completing double crochet in each stitch.
  • Make 2Dc in the last Ch: Double crochet 2 times into the very last stitch to close the round.
  • Join with a SS to the first Dc made: Slip stitch (SS) to the first double crochet you made at the beginning of the round to join the round. (You should have 32 (36, 40) stitches for Small, Medium, and Large, respectively).

Round 2:

  • Ch 1: Chain 1 to start the round.
  • Make 2HDC in each of the next two stitches: Half double crochet (HDC) in each of the next 2 stitches. To make an HDC, yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over again, pull through (3 loops on your hook), and then yarn over again and pull through all 3 loops.
  • Hdc 8 (9, 10): Half double crochet in the next 8 (9, 10) stitches depending on your size.
  • Dc 3 (4, 5): Double crochet into the next 3 (4, 5) stitches.
  • Make 2Dc in each of the next 6 stitches: Double crochet 2 times into each of the next 6 stitches.
  • Dc 3 (4, 5): Double crochet in the next 3 (4, 5) stitches.
  • HDC 8 (9, 10): Half double crochet in the next 8 (9, 10) stitches.
  • 2HDC in each of the last 2 stitches: Half double crochet 2 times in each of the last 2 stitches.
  • Join with a SS to the first HDC made: Slip stitch to the first half double crochet of the round. (You should have 42 (46, 50) stitches for Small, Medium, and Large, respectively).

Round 3:

  • Ch 1: Chain 1 to start the round.
  • In BLO, Sc in each stitch all the way around: In this round, work single crochet (Sc) in each stitch, but work in the back loops only (BLO) of each stitch. This creates a ridge effect.
  • Join with a SS to the first Sc made: Slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round. (You should have 42 (46, 50) stitches for Small, Medium, and Large, respectively).

Round 4:

  • Ch 1: Chain 1 to start the round.
  • Sc all the way around: Single crochet in each stitch around.
  • Join with a SS to the first Sc made: Slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round. (You should have 42 (46, 50) stitches for Small, Medium, and Large, respectively).

Round 5:

  • Ch 1: Chain 1 to start the round.
  • Sc 12 (14, 16): Single crochet in the first 12 (14, 16) stitches.
  • Sc2Tog, Sc: Single crochet 2 stitches together (Sc2Tog), then make 1 single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat this sequence 6 times.
  • Sc 12 (14, 16): Single crochet in the next 12 (14, 16) stitches.
  • Join with a SS to the first Sc made: Slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round. (You should have 36 (40, 44) stitches for Small, Medium, and Large, respectively).

  • Round 9:
    • Ch 2: Chain 2 to start.

    • Join with a SS to the first stitch made: Slip stitch to the first double crochet to close the round. (You should have 19 stitches).

For sizes Medium and Large:

  • Round 9:
    • Ch 2: Chain 2 to start.
    • Dc in the same stitch: Double crochet in the same stitch.
    • Dc in the next (10, 12) stitches: Double crochet in the next (10, 12) stitches.
    • DC3TOG: Double crochet 3 stitches together (DC3Tog).
    • Dc to the end: Double crochet to the end of the round.
    • Join with a SS to the first Dc made: Slip stitch to the first double crochet to close the round. (You should have 21 (25) stitches).
  • Round 10:
    • FPDC, BPDC: Repeat Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC) and Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC) across all stitches around. FPDC around the last stitch.
    • Join with a SS to the first FPDC made: Slip stitch to the first front post double crochet to close the round.
