Stitching Instructions for Home All Day Slipper Socks Pattern:

Start with the Toe:

  • Begin with a magic circle (or adjustable ring). This allows you to tighten the center, so there are no holes in the toe of the slipper.
  • Round 1:
    • Ch 3 (this counts as your first dc). Then, work 11 more dc into the magic circle. You should have a total of 12 dc stitches in this round.
    • Join the round by making a sl st (slip stitch) into the top of the first ch 3. This closes the round.
  • Round 2:
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc).
    • Work 2 dc in each stitch around (this is an increase round).
    • Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3.
    • At the end of this round, you will have 24 dc stitches.

Increase for the Foot:

  • Round 3:
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc), then dc in the next stitch.
    • Work 2 dc into the next stitch, dc in the next stitch. Repeat this pattern all around.
    • Join with sl st to the top of the ch 3.
    • At the end of this round, you will have 36 dc stitches.
  • Round 4:
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in the next 2 stitches.
    • Work 2 dc into the next stitch, dc in the next 2 stitches. Repeat this pattern all around.
    • Join with sl st to the top of the ch 3.
    • This round will have 48 dc stitches at the end.

Work the Foot:

  • Round 5–12:
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each stitch around.
    • Continue working in rounds without increasing. Join each round with a sl st to the top of the ch 3.
    • Repeat this round for a total of 8 rounds (Round 5 through Round 12).
    • You will maintain 48 dc stitches throughout this section. This is the body of the slipper where you will shape the foot portion.

Shape the Heel:

  • Round 13:
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in the next 19 stitches.
    • At this point, leave the remaining stitches unworked to form the heel. You will turn your work at the end of this round and crochet back along the 19 stitches you worked.
    • Turn your work.
  • Rounds 14–16:
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each stitch across for 19 stitches.
    • Turn your work after each round.
    • After completing these 3 rounds, the heel portion of the slipper is finished, and you will now transition to working the cuff.

Form the Cuff:

  • Round 17:
    • After completing the heel, continue crocheting in rounds to form the cuff.
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in the next 47 stitches (this will bring the total stitch count back to 48 as you will now work the entire circumference of the foot again).
    • Join with sl st to the top of the ch 3.
  • Round 18:
    • Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each stitch around.
    • Join with sl st to the top of the ch 3.
    • Repeat this for Round 19 as well.
  • Round 20–22:
    • Repeat Round 18 for 3 more rounds. This will create the ribbed or solid cuff of your slipper, which should be approximately 3-4″ tall (depending on your preference).

Finishing:

  • Once the cuff is to your desired height, fasten off the yarn, leaving a long tail (about 6–8 inches).
  • Use a tapestry needle to weave in all loose ends.
    • Start from the inside of the slipper and carefully weave in the end through the stitches, making sure it’s secure.
    • Trim any excess yarn with scissors.

Repeat for the Second Slipper:
