Donut Cat Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Yarn: Sport weight yarn in two colors:
    • Main Color (MC): For the body, ears, legs, and part of the tail.
    • Contrasting Color (CC): For the striped sections of the tail and forehead/body stripes.
  • Yarn Measurements:
    • Approximately 50 grams of Main Color (MC).
    • Approximately 25 grams of Contrasting Color (CC).
  • Hook Size: 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Safety Eyes: 8 mm (2 pieces).
  • Fiber Fill Stuffing: For stuffing the donut body, legs, and tail.
  • Black Embroidery Thread: For the mouth and whiskers.
  • Tapestry Needle: For sewing pieces together and embroidery work.

Pattern Measurements:

  • Donut Body: Approximately 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter when completed.
  • Ears: About 3 cm (1.2 inches) tall.
  • Legs: About 2 cm (0.8 inches) long.
  • Tail: About 6-7 cm (2.5-3 inches) long, depending on stuffing and sewing.

Donut Body

  • Finishing the Donut Body:
    • Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
    • Stuff the donut with fiber fill as you go, ensuring it’s evenly filled.
    • Sew R1 and R23 together using a whip stitch, carefully closing the donut and ensuring the shape is round.
    • Insert 8 mm safety eyes between R17 and R18, leaving about 9 stitches between them.
    • Embroider the mouth and whiskers with black embroidery thread.

Ears (Make 2)

  • Round 1 (R1): 4 sc in a magic ring. (4 sts)
