Pattern Description:

This adorable amigurumi moose pattern lets you create Miles or Millie, featuring a firm crocheted body, separate head, and optional accessories like bows, scarves, or ruffles. 

Made using worsted weight yarn and basic crochet techniques, it’s perfect for both beginners and experienced crafters looking for a cute, cuddly winter companion with customizable details.

Materials Needed & Measurements:

  • Yarn:
    • Size 4 worsted weight yarn.
    • 50g color of choice for shirt and pants.
    • 50g light brown.
    • Small amount of dark brown.
    • Small amount of ivory.
    • Small amount of color of choice for bow/scarf.
  • Crochet Hooks:
    • 3.5mm crochet hook (used for each part below the scarf).
    • 5mm crochet hook (used for the scarf).
  • Eyes: 12mm safety eyes.
  • Tools & Notions:
    • Scissors.
    • Crochet or embroidery thread for eyelashes (optional).
    • Tapestry needle.

Legs and Body

  • Legs (Make 2)
    • Start with dark brown yarn.
    • Round 1: Magic circle, 6 SC.
    • Round 2: SC INC around (12).
    • Round 3: SC 1, SC INC repeat (18).
    • Round 4: SC 2, SC INC repeat (24).
    • Round 5: SC 3, SC INC repeat (30).
    • Round 6: SC in back loops (30).
    • Rounds 7-8: SC around.
    • Round 9: SC 9, INV DEC 6 times, SC 9 (24).
    • Round 10: SC 6, INV DEC 6 times, SC 6 (18).
    • Switch to pants color. Work Rounds 11-23 with SC around (18).
  • Fasten off first leg only. For second leg, crochet 7 extra SC before joining.
  • Joining Legs
    • Round 24: Ch 3, attach to first leg with SC. Continue SC around leg, SC across chain, then SC around second leg, finishing with SC across chain. (42 sts).
    • Rounds 25-30: SC around.
    • Switch to shirt color. Round 31: SC around (42).
    • Round 32: SC in back loops only (42).

Nose

  • With light brown:

    • Rounds 6-9: SC around (30).

Head

  • With light brown:
    • Work rounds increasing from 6 SC in a magic circle up to 54 stitches by Round 9.
    • Rounds 10-18: SC around (54).
    • Place eyes between Rounds 15-16, 8 stitches apart, and sew nose centered between.
    • Rounds 19-25: Gradually decrease until 12 sts remain.
    • Round 26: INV DEC around (6). Fasten off, sew closed, and stuff firmly.

Ears (Make 2)

  • With light brown:
    • Round 1: Magic circle, 6 SC.
    • Round 2: SC INC around (12).
    • Round 3: SC 1, SC INC (18).
    • Rounds 4-5: SC around (18).
    • Round 6: SC 1, INV DEC (12).
    • Rounds 7-8: SC around (12).
    • Fold ear in half and sew top edge. Leave tail for attaching.

Antlers (Make 2)

  • With ivory:
    • Make two small tubes of 6-12 sts wide, then join as one piece (similar to leg join).
    • Work decreases to shape. Each antler remains unstuffed for flexibility.
    • Repeat for second antler.

Arms (Make 2)

  • Begin with dark brown:
    • Round 1: Magic circle, 6 SC.
    • Round 2: SC INC around (12).
    • Round 3: SC 3, SC INC (15).
    • Rounds 4-5: SC around (15).
    • Round 6: SC 1, INV DEC (10).
    • Switch to shirt color. Work Rounds 7-20: SC around (10).
    • Flatten, close with 5 SC, and fasten off. Lightly stuff bottom only.

Bow (Optional for Millie)

  • In magic circle: 4 DC, slip st, 4 DC, slip st.
  • Pull tight, wrap yarn around center, and secure. Leave tail for sewing.

Scarf (Optional for Miles)

  • With 5mm hook: Ch 60.
  • Row 1: HDC in 2nd chain and across (59).
  • Rows 2-3: HDC across (59). Fasten off and weave ends.

Assembly

  • Sew antlers to top of head (Rounds 5-9).
  • Attach ears just below antlers.
  • Add bow for Millie if desired.
  • Sew head onto body, stuffing neck firmly.
  • Sew arms at Round 44 of body.
  • Finish with scarf for Miles or leave plain.

Final Touch
