Pattern Description:
This Crochet A-Line skirt is simple to make, requiring knowledge of the half double crochet (hdc) and Suzette stitches. The body of the skirt uses hdc, while a block of the Suzette stitch forms the border.
Construction begins with crocheting a band of single crochet (sc) rows to cover a 1-inch elastic waistband. The pattern is available in both English and Spanish.

Instructions for Making the Crochet A-Line Skirt: Peach Fuzz Pattern:
Waistband Construction
The skirt uses an elastic waistband to help the skirt stay up.
- Prepare Elastic: Cut a piece of 1″ elastic to fit around your waist. If the elastic is not rescued from an existing garment, hold the ends together and sew them using a 5/8″ seam allowance.
- Foundation: Grab yarn, make a slip knot, leaving a long tail for sewing ends later. CH 9.
- R1 (sc): Make 1 sc in the second CH from the hook, then sc in the remaining chains. 8 sc. CH 1 and turn.
- R2 (sc rows): Work 1 sc in each sc for 134 (152, 168, 186, 202) rows. CH 1 and turn.
- Joining: Fold the crochet band over the elastic (covering the long/raw edges). Join the folded edges with 134 (152, 168, 186, 202) single crochet stitches. Slip stitch (sl st) to the first sc to join.
- Starting the Round: CH 2, place stitch marker. The pattern recommends working in the round and using a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round to avoid a traveling seam. Use the long tail of yarn to sew the gap over the elastic shut before starting the skirt proper, or wait until the skirt is finished.
Skirt Body (hdc)
The skirt body starts working in the round from the sc join.
- Rnd 1: Skip the first sc (the CH 2 counts as the first hdc). Hdc in every single crochet: 134 (152, 168, 186, 202) sts. Do not join.
