Stitching Instructions for Making the Bernat Crochet Basket with Handles Pattern:
Starting the Basket
- Ch 4. Join with a sl st to the first ch to form a ring.
1st Round:
- Ch 2. 10 hdc in the ring.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc.
- (You will have 10 hdc in this round.)
2nd Round:
- Ch 2. 2 hdc in each hdc around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc.
- (You will have 20 hdc in this round.)
3rd Round:
- Ch 2. 1 hdc in the next hdc, 2 hdc in the next hdc.
- Repeat from * around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc.
- (You will have 30 hdc in this round.)
4th Round:
- Ch 2. 1 hdc in each of the next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in the next hdc.
- Repeat from * around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc.
- (You will have 40 hdc in this round.)
5th Round:
- Ch 2. 1 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in the next hdc.
- Repeat from * around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc.

6th Round:
- Ch 2. 1 hdc in each of the next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in the next hdc.

- Ch 2. Work 1 hdc into the horizontal bar created below each st in the previous row on the WS (wrong side) of the work.

- Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc.
21st Round:
- Ch 1. 1 sc in each of the next 15 sts.
- 14 sc in the next ch-12 sp (handle space).
- 1 sc in each of the next 30 sts.
- 14 sc in the next ch-12 sp.
- 1 sc in each st around.
- Join with a sl st to the first sc.
Final Round:
- Working in back loops only,
- Sl st in each st around.
- Join with a sl st to the first sl st.
- Fasten off and weave in the ends.
