Pattern Description:

This free Cat-Bunny Reversible C2C Bag-Pillow crochet pattern creates a cat-and-bunny bag-pillow with an integrated book pouch.

The design lets you easily flip between the two animal faces. The project uses C2C construction for the front panel, back panel, and book pouch. 

It is beginner-friendly and worked with Premier Anti-Pilling Everyday Worsted and Momenti yarn.

• Premier Anti-Pilling Everyday Worsted Yarn (100% Acrylic, 180 yds/100 g) – 2 skeins White
• 4.5 mm hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Two pieces of fabric (16 x 16 inches)

Face Embellishments (Clean Version)

Cat Mouths & Inner Ears (4 Hearts)

Magic ring: 3 tr, 3 dc, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 3 dc, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st into ring. Fasten off with tail.

Cat Eyes (Make 2)

• R1: Magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc
• R2: 2 sc in each st
• R3: 1 sc, 2 sc in next st repeat around

Add 4 white stitches for eye shine.

Cat Outer Ears (Make 2)

Rows worked using ATC where noted. R1: Magic ring, ATC, 8 dc (9 sts) R2: Increase at start, dc 3, 5 dc in mid st, dc 3, increase at end R3: Increase at start, dc 6, 5 dc in mid st, dc 6, increase at end R4: Increase at start, dc 9, [dc, ch 1, tr, ch 1, dc], dc 9, increase at end

Bunny Outer Ears (White) – Make 2

Bunny Inner Ears (pi) – Make 2

Same as outer ears but worked in pink.

Assembly

Sew Face Pieces

Attach all cat and bunny features to the two panels.

Embroidery

With black yarn:

• Cat: mouth, whiskers
• Bunny: 2 half-circle eyes

Attach Book Pouch

Place rectangle on lower edge of one panel and sew on 3 sides.

Join Panels

Sew both large C2C panels together on 3 sides for bag, or all 4 for pillow.

Optional Lining & Zipper

Sew zipper between fabric pieces, stitch fabric sides, insert lining, and sew it into the crochet.

Straps

Make two i-cord straps (18 inches each) or crochet straps. Feed through holes and knot inside.
