Free Corner-to-Corner Cocoon Pattern

Corner-to-Corner Cocoon

Pattern Description:

This pattern creates a fun, mindless, and super comfortable crochet sweater in “petite,” “one size,” or “plus size”.

It utilizes Corner to Corner (C2C) construction worked in the round, starting in the center and growing the square until the desired dimensions are met.

Before seaming, the crocheted piece is roughly the size of a baby blanket.

Materials Needed & Measurements:

Yarn & Hook

  • Yarn Weight: Worsted weight (size 4) yarn.
  • Colors: The pattern uses 4 colors.
  • Hook Size: Crochet hook in size I/5.5mm.

  • Substitution Note: You can technically use any size yarn with the corresponding hook size, growing your square to the indicated dimension; however, yardage will vary from what is listed.

Measurements & Gauge

  • Gauge:
    • After round 3 measures 5” across.
    • After round 5 measures 8” across.
  • Square Size (before seaming): The finished square should measure approximately 36”, 38”, or 40”.
