Optional Decorative Step:
- Use surface crochet to add white lines around the basket. Starting at the seam, slip stitch 4 white lines where colors meet, using #4 aran weight yarn.
Adding the Plastic Canvas:
- Cut strips of heavy-duty plastic canvas to match the height of the inner layer of the basket.
- Insert the plastic canvas strips into the basket, folding the basket over the canvas for stability.
- Continue layering the strips until the desired stiffness is achieved, and then fold the inner layer down to cover the canvas.
Adding the Handle:
- Cut two long strips of plastic canvas, each about 6 squares wide.
- Cover the strips with yarn, either wrapping or weaving it around for added texture.
- Attach the handle to the inside of the basket using super glue, ensuring it is secure.
Once these steps are completed, your basket is ready!
