Creating the Crayon Tip Shape

Creating the Crayon Tip Shape

To make the crayon tip more defined, you will shape it by reducing stitches: 16.

Tip: Begin by hdc2tog to narrow the tip, and keep following the shaping instructions to reduce stitch count gradually. This creates the pointy shape of the crayon.

Button Tab

To make a button tab for closure, crochet 4 sc stitches, then reduce stitches by working hdc2tog in the next row. Finish off by sewing a button onto the opposite side of the buttonhole.

Water Bottle Appliqué

Water Bottle Appliqué
  • Oval Appliqué: To create the decorative water bottle shape, crochet a small oval:
  • Ch 3: Starting in the second chain from hook, work 2 sc stitches, increase in the next round, and finish with 2 sc2tog to close the oval.
  • Crochet the border of the appliqué by working sc stitches along the edges, then sew the finished oval onto the front of the cozy.

Scribble Strap

  • The strap can be customized into three different lengths:
    • Short: Chain 81.
    • Medium: Chain 121.
    • Cross-body: Chain 161.
  • Starting from the second chain, work hdc across the length of the strap, incorporating hdc3tog and other special stitches to create the fun scribble design.
  • Once the strap is completed, attach it to the cozy by sewing or slip-stitching the ends to the back.

Now it is a ready fun, functional crayon-inspired cozy for your water bottle pattern. Enjoy!
