Crochet Baby Flip-Flops Free Pattern

Materials Needed & Measurements:

• Suggested Yarn:
  • Off-white mercerized cotton yarn (100% Cotton, 50g, 115 m)
  • Multi-color mercerized cotton yarn in violet, raspberry, grey, purple (100% Cotton, 50g, 115 m)
  • Raspberry mercerized cotton yarn for the flower (100% Cotton, 50g, 115 m)

Stitching Instructions for Making the Crochet Baby Flip-Flops Pattern:

Step 1: Creating the Soles

You will need to make two soles of each color (off-white and taupe). Follow the instructions below using the abbreviations and special stitches:

• Round 1:
  • With off-white yarn, ch 13, sc in the second chain from the hook.
  • Work 6 sc, followed by 4 hdc, and then 3 hdc in the last stitch.
  • Without turning, continue on the opposite side of the chain: 4 hdc, 6 sc until the last stitch.
  • Attach to the first sc with a sl st.
• Round 2:
  • Ch 1, work 2 sc in the next stitch, 5 sc, 5 hdc, and [2 hdc in the next stitch] 4 times.
  • Continue with 5 hdc, 5 sc, and 2 sc in the next stitch.
  • Bond to the first chain with a sl st.
• Round 3:
  • Ch 1, work 1 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch, 12 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch, and 3 sc (center stitches).
  • Repeat with 2 sc in the next stitch, 12 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch, and 1 sc.
  • Add with a sl st to the first chain.
• Round 4:
  • Ch 1, work 10 sc, 5 hdc, [2 hdc in the next stitch] twice, 3 hdc, [2 hdc in the next stitch] twice, 5 hdc, and 11 sc.

• Repeat the steps above to create two soles in off-white and two in taupe.
• Assembling the Soles:
  • Place one off-white sole and one taupe sole together with their wrong sides facing each other.

Step 2: Adding the Straps

• Right Strap:
  • Count 7 stitches from the middle bottom of the sole (on the right side).

• Left Strap:

• Back Strap:

  • Continue working hdc across the chain, skipping the stitch at the toe strap by working hdc2tog (combine the stitch before and after the toe strap).
  • Continue working hdc until reaching the right strap.
  • Sl st and fasten off. Sew in loose ends.

Step 3: Making the Flower

• In a magic ring, ch 1, work 6 sc into the ring.
• Take to the first stitch with a sl st.
• For each petal:
  • Ch 4, work 4 dc in the same stitch, drop the loop, pick up the top of the ch 4, and pull through.
  • Sl st into the next stitch and repeat for a total of 6 petals.
• Make another flower and sew both flowers just above the straps using the tapestry needle.
