Crochet Bunny Ears Headband with Flowers Pattern

Materials Needed & Measurements:

  • 75 yards of grey worsted weight yarn
  • 24 yards of pink worsted weight yarn
  • 6 yards of green worsted weight yarn
  • 6 yards of yellow worsted weight yarn
  • Size H (5mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Hot glue gun for attaching flowers
  • Gauge: 7 single crochets = 2 inches, 9 rows = 2 inches
  • Ear Height: 6.5 inches
  • Headband Circumference:
    • Baby: 16 inches
    • Child: 18 inches

Stitching Instructions for Making Crochet Bunny Ears Headband with Flowers Pattern:

Ear (Make 2):

  • Start with the grey yarn. Ch 2 (this does not count as a stitch for the first round).
  • Round 1: Make 6 sc in the second ch from the hook.
  • Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (12 st).
  • Round 3: Sc in the first st, 2 sc in the next st, repeat around (18 st).
  • Round 4: Sc in the next 2 st, 2 sc in the next st, repeat around (24 st).
  • Rounds 5-10: Sc in each st around for 6 rounds (24 st).
  • Round 11: Sc in the next 2 st, sc2tog (decrease), repeat around (18 st).

Making the Headband:

  • Starting the Headband:
    • Ch the number of stitches required for your headband size (use the circumference guide above):
      • Baby: Ch 50
      • Child: Ch 55
      • Young Adult: Ch 60
      • Adult: Ch 65
  • Join the Chain: Join with a slip stitch to form a circle, being careful not to twist the chain.
  • Round 1: Sc in each st around, join with sl st to the first st.
  • Rounds 2-5: Continue sc in each st around for 4 more rounds. Join with sl st and fasten off.

Making the Flowers:

  • Small Flower (Make 3):
    • With pink yarn, create a magic ring.
    • Round 1: Ch 2 (this counts as the first dc), make 11 dc into the ring, join with a sl st to the top of the first dc (12 dc total).
    • Round 2: Ch 3, sl st into the top of the next dc repeat around, creating 12 petals.
    • Fasten off, leaving a long tail for attaching the flowers to the headband.

Assembly:

  • Attaching the Bunny Ears: Use the yarn needle or long tails from the ears to sew each ear onto the headband, spacing them evenly.
