  • Row 11-40: Repeat rows as per the pattern, alternating colors, and creating rows with a variety of Black, White, and Orange combinations to create your Halloween design. Continue until you’ve completed 40 rows. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Back Panel:

  • Row 1: CH 45. SC in the 2nd CH from the hook and each stitch across (44 sts).
  • Rows 2-40: CH 1, turn. SC in each stitch across (44 sts). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Assembly and Trim:

  • Place Panels Together: Lay the front and back panels on top of each other, ensuring the wrong sides are facing each other, with the front panel on top.
  • Crochet the Trim: Attach Black yarn to any stitch along the top of the pillow.

Working through both layers, SC in the same stitch where you joined, SC around the pillow, placing a single SC in each stitch/row end. For each corner, place a (SC, HDC, SC).

  • Add Stuffing: When you’re about ¾ of the way around the pillow, start adding your stuffing. Continue to stuff firmly as you add your trim, ensuring the pillow is evenly filled. Continue crocheting the trim until the pillow is fully seamed closed.
  • Join and Finish: Join the last stitch to the first with a slip stitch. CH 1 and SC around again, placing (SC, HDC, SC) in each corner. Join the final stitch to the first with a sl st.
  • Final Touches: Fasten off and weave in any loose ends. Optionally, you can add extra flair to your pillow by attaching stripes, tassels, or pompoms to the edging.

Additional Ideas for Customization:

  • Stripes or Extra Patterns: You can add extra color patterns like stripes or checkers for a more playful Halloween look.
  • Pompoms or Tassels: Add some pompoms or tassels at each corner or along the edges for more texture and fun!
  • Halloween Shapes: Consider adding a spooky design to the front panel, like pumpkins, ghosts, or bats, using tapestry crochet techniques.
