Stitching Instructions for Summit Slipper Socks Pattern:
1. Toes:
- Begin with a magic ring or ch 4, sl st into the first ch to form a ring.
- Round 1: Work 6 sc into the center of the ring. Tighten the ring by pulling the tail end. Do not join; continue in unjoined rounds (spiral).
- Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of the round.
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc total).
- Round 3: [1 sc, 2 sc in next stitch] repeat around (18 sc total).
- Round 4: [1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, 2 sc in the next stitch] repeat around (24 sc total).
- Continue increasing in this pattern (adding 1 more single crochet between increases in each round) until the diameter matches your foot’s width.
2. Foot:
- Once the toe section is complete, continue working sc in unjoined rounds to extend the foot.
- Use the stitch marker to keep track of rounds.
- Start the lattice texture on the top of the foot:
- On the top stitches, work [1 dc, 1 fpdc] alternately across the row to create a raised texture.
- Around the sides and bottom (sole), continue working sc.
- Repeat the textured lattice pattern for the top stitches in every round. On the next lattice row:
- Work the fpdc around the post of the previous row’s fpdc to enhance the pattern.
- Continue in this manner, alternating textured and smooth sections, until the foot portion matches your size from the toe to the start of the heel.
3. Heel:
- After finishing the foot section, begin the heel in turned rows.
- Attach yarn to the heel area (specific stitches marked in the pattern).
- Row 1: Ch 1, work sc across the designated heel stitches. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 1, work sc across. Continue for the number of rows specified in the pattern or until the heel area reaches the needed height.
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
- Fold the heel section in half and sew the edges together using a tapestry needle and whipstitch. Weave in ends.
4. Cuff:
- Switch to Fable Fur yarn for the cuff. Attach it to the ankle opening with a sl st.
- Round 1: Ch 1, work sc evenly around the entire ankle opening. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
- Round 2 and beyond: Repeat sc rounds, ensuring that the cuff lays evenly and matches your desired length.
- Tip: Faux-fur yarn can obscure stitches, so work slowly and feel for each stitch.
- Once the cuff reaches your preferred width, join the final round with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends.
5. Finishing Touches:
- Check the slipper for any loose ends and weave them in securely.
- Block the main slipper body if necessary (avoid blocking the faux-fur cuff as it might lose fluffiness).
- Repeat the entire process for the second sock.
