Pusheen Amigurumi Pattern

Materials Needed & Measurements

  • Suggested Yarn: Acrylic yarn in pink and lavender (4-ply/sport weight recommended).
  • Yarn Measurements: Approximately 50g each of pink and lavender yarn.
  • Hook Size: 2mm crochet hook (or size recommended for your chosen yarn).
  • Poly Fiber Fill: For stuffing the head, body, and tail.
  • Tapestry Needle: For sewing and weaving in ends.
  • Eyes: 8mm flat-back black beads or safety eyes.
  • Embroidery Thread: Black embroidery thread for facial details (mouth and whiskers).

Pattern Measurements

  • Finished Cat Height: Approximately 4–5 inches tall (may vary depending on tension and yarn used).
  • Tail Length: Approximately 3–4 inches.

Abbreviations

  • ch: Chain.
  • sc: Single crochet.
  • dec: Decrease (single crochet two stitches together).
  • rep **: Repeat stitches between the asterisks.

Special Stitches

  • Magic Ring (MR): Create a loop to work the first round of stitches, allowing you to pull the center tight for a neat finish.

Detailed Instructions for Each Round of the Pusheen Amigurumi Pattern:

Head and Body (Pink Yarn)

This forms the main shape of Pusheen. Work continuously in rounds without joining unless specified.

  • R1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6).
  • R2: 2 sc in each st around (12).
  • R3: sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, rep ** around (18).
  • R4: sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st, rep ** around (24).
  • R5: sc in next 3 st, 2 sc in next st, rep ** around (30).
  • R6: sc in next 4 st, 2 sc in next st, rep ** around (36).
  • R7: sc in next 5 st, 2 sc in next st, rep ** around (42).
  • R8–R19: sc in each st around (42).
    • Add Eyes: If using safety eyes, insert them between R10 and R11, leaving 6–7 stitches in between.
  • R20: sc in next 5 st, dec in next st, rep ** around (36).
  • R21: sc in next 4 st, dec in next st, rep ** around (30).
  • R22: sc in next 3 st, dec in next st, rep ** around (24).

Ears (Pink Yarn, Make 2)

    • Switch colors as follows:
      • R4–6: Pink.
      • R7–8: Lavender.

    • Stuff lightly. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembling Pusheen

  • Ears: Sew ears on the head, starting at the end of R3 and spanning to R8.
  • Eyes: Attach flat-back beads or safety eyes between R10 and R11.
  • Mouth & Whiskers:
    • Using black embroidery thread, stitch an inverted “V” for the mouth below the eyes.
    • Add a small horizontal line above the inverted “V.”
    • Stitch three whiskers on each side of the face, spaced one stitch apart.
  • Legs:
    • Attach forelegs at R14–15 on each side.
    • Attach hind legs at R20–21 at a slight angle for a seated position.
  • Tail: Attach the tail at the back, between R21 and R22.

Optional Details

  • Use lavender yarn to embroider stripes:
    • Head: Three stripes from R2 to R6.
    • Body: Two side stripes at R15 and R17.
