Materials Needed & Measurements

Suggested Yarn:

Use cotton or acrylic yarn in the following colors:

  • Light blue (for Elsa’s dress)
  • White (for the cape and details)
  • Beige or skin-tone (for the body and face)
  • Blonde or yellow (for the hair)
  • Black or brown (for the eyes, optional if embroidered)

Yarn Measurements: Small skeins of each color (approximately 50–100g depending on the doll’s size).

Hook Size: 2.0 mm crochet hook.

Pattern Measurements: 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) in height, depending on your tension and yarn choice.

Needle: Tapestry needle for sewing parts together and weaving in ends.

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • inc: increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
  • dec: decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
  • BLO: back loop only

Stitching Rounds for Queen Elsa Amigurumi Pattern:

Head

  • Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc into the ring. Pull the ring tight to close. (6 sts)
  • Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
  • Round 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat around. (18 sts)
  • Round 4: (2 sc, inc) repeat around. (24 sts)
  • Rounds 5-10: Sc in each st around. (24 sts)
    • Work evenly to create the round shape of the head.

    • Stuff the body firmly, shaping it into a cylinder.
  • Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Dress

  • Round 1: Attach light blue yarn to the FLO of the last round of the body. Ch 1, sc in each st around. (12 sts)
    • Working in FLO creates a neat transition from the body to the dress.
  • Round 2: (1 sc, inc) repeat around. (18 sts)
  • Round 3: (2 sc, inc) repeat around. (24 sts)
  • Rounds 4-8: Sc in each st around. (24 sts)
    • Work evenly to elongate the dress. You can add extra rounds for a longer gown.
  • Round 9: (3 sc, inc) repeat around. (30 sts)
  • Rounds 10-12: Sc in each st around. (30 sts)
    • This flares the bottom of the dress slightly.
  • Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Arms (Make 2)

  • Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
  • Round 2:(1 sc, inc) repeat around. (9 sts)
    1. Work tightly to create slender arms.
  • Rounds 3-8: Sc in each st around. (9 sts)
    1. Adjust the length by adding or subtracting rounds.
  • Lightly stuff the arms and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
  • Hair
  • Cut multiple 8-inch strands of blonde or yellow yarn for the braid.
    1. Attach each strand along the top of the head using slip knots:
  • Insert your hook into a st, pull a loop of yarn through, and pull both loose ends through the loop to secure.
  • Once all strands are attached, group them into three sections and braid. Secure the braid at the bottom with a small piece of yarn.

Cape

  • Row 1: With white yarn, ch 20.
  • Row 2: Starting in the second ch from the hook, sc in each ch across. (19 sts)
  • Rows 3-10: Sc in each st across. (19 sts)
    • You can add more rows for a longer cape.
  • Fasten off, weave in the ends, and attach the cape to the back of the dress using a tapestry needle.

Final Assembly

  • Sew the head to the top of the body, ensuring it’s centered.
  • Attach the arms to the sides of the body just below the head.
  • Position the cape on the back of the dress and sew along the top edge.
  • Embroider or attach facial features:
    • Use black or brown yarn for the eyes (or safety eyes).
    • Add a small pink detail for the mouth.
  • Adjust the hair braid and secure it to the head as needed for Elsa’s signature style.
