Stitching Instructions for Making the Sylvan Star Washcloth Pattern:
The pattern begins by working an adjustable ring to create a neat, closed center.
Adjustable Ring Method:
Wrap yarn around index finger. Insert hook into the ring on your finger, yarn over and draw up a loop. Carefully slip the ring from your finger.
Work the stitches of Rnd 1 into the ring. When Rnd 1 is complete, gently, but firmly, pull the tail to close up the ring.
Notes: Do NOT turn at the end of rounds. Exact gauge is not important to this project. Ch 3 counts as dc throughout the pattern.
WASHCLOTH:
Following the Technique Explanation above, make an adjustable ring.
- Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout the pattern), dc in ring, ch 1, (2 dc in ring, ch 1) 5 times; join with sl st in top of beg ch. At the end of this round, you should have 12 dc and 6 ch-1 sps.
