Finishing the Coaster:
- Use the long tail of the icing piece to carefully sew the icing onto the brown doughnut base using a yarn needle.
- Add sprinkles to the icing by threading small lengths of colorful yarn through the icing layer. Secure the ends tightly on the back.
- Weave in all loose ends.
Holder Pattern
Notes:
- This part is worked in rounds to form a cylindrical shape for holding the coasters.
- Adjust the height to fit your desired number of coasters.

- Using Ecru yarn, ch 4 and sl st into the first ch to form a ring.
- Work 7 sc into the ring. Sl st to the first sc to close the round. (7 sc)
- Round 2:
- Ch 1. Work 2 sc in each st around. Sl st to the first sc. (14 sc)
- Round 3:
- Ch 1.
- Work 2 sc in the next st, followed by 1 sc in the next st.
- Repeat from * to the end of the round. Sl st to the first sc. (21 sc)
- Round 4:

- Repeat from * around the circle. Sl st to the first sc. (35 sc)
- Repeat the above pattern, increasing the stitches in between each increase until the base is wide enough to hold your coasters. (42 or 49 sc depending on coaster size)
Sides
- Round 1 (Forming the Edge): Ch 1. Work 1 sc in the back loops only (BLO) of each st around. Sl st to the first sc. (This creates a sharp edge for the holder walls.)
- Rounds 2-6: Ch 1. Work 1 sc in each st around. Sl st to the first sc. (No increases here to keep the sides vertical.)
- Optional Height Adjustment: If more height is needed, repeat additional rounds of 1 sc in each st until the holder reaches your desired height.
- Final Round (Reverse sc for Decorative Edge): Work reverse sc (crab stitch) around to finish the edge decoratively. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Final Assembly
- Place the doughnut coasters into the holder, ensuring they fit snugly.
- Enjoy your fun and functional crochet project or gift it to someone special!
