Step by Step Instructions for Making the Fairy Blossom Baby Booties Pattern:

Step 1: Sole

• Foundation Round:

• Using Drops Cotton Light Green, ch 12.
• In the 2nd ch from the hook, work 2 hdc into the same st. (This creates the rounded toe).
• Hdc in the next 9 ch.
• In the last ch, work 6 hdc to create a rounded heel.
• Go on the opposite side of the foundation ch:
  • Hdc in the next 9 ch (mirroring the first side).
  • In the same ch as the first 2 hdc, work 2 hdc to complete the round.
• Sl st to the first hdc to add. (28 sts)
• Round 2:

• Ch 1, work 2 hdc in the first st, then hdc in the next 9 sts.
• In the next 6 sts (heel area), work 2 hdc in each st.
• Hdc in the next 9 sts (opposite side).
• In the last 2 sts (toe area), work 2 hdc in each st.
• Sl st to attatch. (38 sts)
• Round 3:

• Chain 1, make an hdc in the first stitch, then work 2 hdc in the following stitch.
• Hdc in the next 9 sts.
• In the next 12 sts (heel area), alternate: hdc in 1 st, 2 hdc in the next st 6 times.
• Hdc in the next 9 sts (opposite side).
• In the last 4 sts (toe area), alternate: hdc in 1 st, 2 hdc in the next st 2 times.
• Sl st to merge. (48 sts)

Step 2: Upper Portion

• Round 4:

• Switch to Drops Muskat Heather, ch 1.
• Work hdc in the back loop only (BLO) of each st around.
• Sl st to add. (48 sts)
• Round 5:

• Ch 1, sc in the next 14 sts (start at the heel).
• Sc2tog 10 times across the toe area (center front).
• Single crochet in the next 14 stitches to finish the round.
• Sl st to link. (38 sts)
• Round 6:

• Ch 1, hdc in the next 12 sts.
• Hdc2tog 7 times across the toe area (center front).
• Hdc in the next 12 sts to complete the round.
• Sl st to bind. (31 sts)

Step 3: Toe Decoration

• Round 7:

• Switch to Drops Muskat Vanilla Yellow, ch 1.
• Work [puff st, ch 1] 5 times evenly across the front 7 sts (toe area).
  • Puff st: YO, insert hook into the st, pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook), YO, insert hook into the same st, pull up a loop (5 loops on the hook), YO and pull through all loops on the hook.
• Sc in the remaining sts around the bootie.
• Sl st to integrat.

Step 4: Ankle Edge

• Round 8:

• Switch back to Drops Muskat Heather, ch 1.
• Work sc in each st around to create a neat edge.
• Sl st to attatch.
• Fasten off.

Finishing Touches:

• Use a tapestry needle to weave in all the loose ends.
