Stitching Instructions for Making the Table Topper in 3D Pattern:
Round 1: Foundation Circle

- Start with a slip knot, and ch 4.
- Join with a sl st into the first ch to form a ring.
- Ch 3 (counts as your first dc), and work 11 dc into the ring.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3. (You should now have 12 dc in the ring.)
Round 2: Increase Round

- Ch 3 (counts as your first dc), then work 1 dc into the same st.
- Work 2 dc into each of the next 11 sts around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. (You should now have 24 dc.)
Round 3: Create Loops for 3D Petals

- Ch 1, sc in the same st.
- Ch 6, sl st into the base of the sc (this creates a loop behind the sc).
- Sc in the next st, ch 6, sl st into the base of the sc. Rep this sequence in every st around.
- Sl st into starting sc to join. (You should now have 12 loops, one behind each sc.)
Round 4: First Layer of Petals

- Into each loop, work the following sequence: sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc.
- Insert the hook into the loop, draw up a loop, and work one sc.
- Then, yarn over and insert the hook again for one hdc.
- Work 3 dc in the same loop for the center height of the petal.
- Finish the petal with one hdc and one sc.
- Move to the next loop and repeat the same petal sequence around.
- Complete rnd w/ sl st into 1st sc. (You should now have 12 petals.)
Round 5: Prepare for the Second Layer of Petals

- Working behind the first layer of petals, sl st into the base of the first petal.
- Ch 8 (to create a larger loop for the second layer of petals), sl st into the base of the next petal.
- Rep this around to form a loop behind each petal.
- Join with a sl st to the first loop. (You should now have 12 new loops behind the first layer.)
Round 6: Second Layer of Petals

- Into each loop, work the following sequence: sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc.
- Insert the hook into the loop and work a sc.
- Then, yarn over and insert the hook again for one hdc.
- Work 5 dc for a more pronounced petal in the second layer.
- Finish the petal with one hdc and one sc.
- Move to the next loop and repeat the sequence.
- Close w/ sl st to beg sc. (You should now have 12 larger petals forming the second layer.)
Round 7: Decorative Edging for Texture

- Work fpdc around the posts of the first-layer petals. This makes the petals “pop” forward for a 3D effect.
- Insert the hook from front to back around the post of a dc from the first petal, yarn over, and complete a dc.
- Work bpdc around the posts of the second-layer petals. This pushes the second layer slightly backward for depth.
- Insert the hook from back to front around the post of a dc from the second petal, yarn over, and complete a dc.
- Ch 2 between each fpdc and bpdc for added spacing and decoration.
Final Round: Picot Edge Finish

- Work sc in the next st, ch 3, sl st into the first ch of the ch 3 (forms a picot).
- Work a sc in the next st and repeat the picot sequence around the edge.
- Finish rnd by sl st into initial sc.
Finishing Details

- Cut the thread, leaving a small tail.
- Use the tapestry needle to weave in the ends neatly.
- Block the table topper using foam boards, pins, and water spray to enhance its shape and detail.
