- Foundation: Begin with a magic ring, Ch 2.

Embroidery for Cactus Spikes
- Cut a long strand of cream yarn.
- Tie a knot at one end and thread the tapestry needle with the other.
- Using small V-shaped stitches, embroider spikes randomly across the coaster.
- Each “V” should be about the size of one Hdc stitch.
- Add 6 spikes (or as desired) per coaster.
Flower Accent
- With peach yarn, begin a magic ring.
- Ch 4, sl st into the ring. Rpt 4 more times to form 5 petals.
