Stitching Instructions for Making the Endless Eyelets Granny Cardigan Pattern:
Back Panel:
- Ch 62 (68, 74, 80, 86).
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch st across. (61, 67, 73, 79, 85)
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, dc in same st as ch 3, sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st; rep from across until last st, make 2 dc in last st.
- Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, 3 dc in sp between dc groups across, end with 1 dc in top of last st.
- Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, dc in same st as ch 3, 3 dc in each sp across row, end with 2 dc in last st.
- Repeat Rows 3 & 4 until panel measures approx. 29” (31.5”, 34”, 36.5”, 39”). Fasten off.
Front Panels (Make 2):
- Ch 26 (29, 32, 35, 38).
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch st across. (25, 28, 31, 34, 37)
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, dc in same st as ch 3, sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st; rep from across until last st, make 2 dc in last st.
- Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, 3 dc in sp between dc groups across, end with 1 dc in top of last st.
- Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, dc in same st as ch 3, 3 dc in each sp across row, end with 2 dc in last st.
- Repeat Rows 3 & 4 until piece matches the length of the back panel. Fasten off.
Sleeves (Make 2):
- Ch 47 (50, 53, 53, 56).
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch st across. (46, 49, 52, 52, 55)
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, dc in same st as ch 3, sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st; rep from across until last st, make 2 dc in last st.
- Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, 3 dc in first sp, then 3 dc in each sp across row, end with 1 dc in top of last st.
- Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, dc in same st as ch 3, 3 dc in each sp across row, end with 2 dc in last st.
- Repeat Rows 3 & 4 until sleeve measures approx. 18.5” (19, 19.5”, 19.5”, 20”). Fasten off.
Assembly & Seaming:
- Shoulders: Place front panels on top of back panel, aligning outer edges and leaving space in the middle for the neckline. Seam panels at shoulders using whip stitch.
- Sides: Seam front and back panels at the sides, leaving openings for the armholes.
- Sleeves: Fold sleeves lengthwise. Seam along the long edge to form a tube. Attach sleeves to armholes, aligning seams at the underarm.
- Tip: Ensure the right sides are facing inward while seaming for a neat finish.
Collar:
- Attach yarn at bottom inner corner of one front panel.
- Row 1: Ch 2, work hdc evenly along the neckline to the opposite end.
- Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc flo in each st across.
- Rows 3-4: Repeat Row 2.
- Optional: For a wider collar, continue repeating Row 2 until the desired width is achieved.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Finishing Touches:
- Block cardigan to shape and size as desired.
- Weave in any remaining ends with a tapestry needle.
