Chubby Bunny Crochet Pattern

Materials Needed & Measurements:

  • Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (colors of your choice)
  • Crochet Hook: Size E/3.5mm
  • Safety Eyes: 9mm black pair
  • Stuffing: Fiberfill

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
  • dec = decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • FO = fasten off
  • st(s) = stitch(es)

Stitching Instructions for Making Crochet Chubby Bunny Pattern:

Body

  • Start with a magic ring: Form a magic ring and place your stitch marker in the first stitch to help keep track of your rounds.
  • Round 1:
    • Work 6 sc into the magic ring.
    • You should now have 6 stitches. Pull the ring tight, closing the center.
    • (6 sts)
  • Round 2:
    • Inc (increase) in each stitch around.
    • You will now have 12 stitches.
    • (12 sts)
  • Round 3:

  • Round 9:

Assembly

  • Positioning and Pinning: Use straight pins to temporarily position the arms, legs, ears, and tail before sewing them onto the body. This ensures even placement and balance for the chubby bunny.
  • Sewing the Pieces Together:
    • Sew the ears to the top of the body, making sure they’re centered.
    • Attach the arms to the sides, placing them near the upper half of the body.
    • Position the legs at the bottom of the body, slightly spaced apart.
    • Attach the tail to the back of the bunny.
  • Adjust Stuffing: If necessary, add or redistribute fiberfill to give the bunny its cute, chubby look.
