Yarn:
- 1 cone of Habu’s Copper Bamboo (67% Bamboo, 33% Copper) in Brown.
- 1 skein of Habu’s Dyed Linen (100% Linen) in Dark Brown.
Tools:
- A size A (2 mm) crochet hook.
- 5 removable stitch markers or safety pins.
Starching Supplies:
- A heaping teaspoon of cornstarch.
- A spray bottle for homemade starch solution.
Optional: Substitute lace-weight yarn from your collection if necessary.

Abbreviations Used:

Round 1: Work 1 sc in the front loop of next 28 sts. Ch 1, mark ch with a stitch marker. Rotate work 90°, make 46 sc along the long side, ch 1, mark ch. Rotate work, sc in each ch (28 sts), ch 1, mark ch. Rotate work, make 46 sc along the final side, ch 1, mark the beginning of the round with a different color marker.
Round 2: Sc in each st to corner marker, remove marker, ch 1, replace marker on the ch, skip next st; rep from for the round.
Rep Round 2 5 more times.
Finishing: Sl st into the next st, cut the yarn, pull through, and remove all markers.

Foundation Round:
- With both strands of yarn, ch 1 into an adjustable loop.
- Make 12 sc into the loop. (12 sts)
- Mark the first st of the next round with a stitch marker.
Body Rounds:
- Round 1: 1 sc in next st, 3 sc in next st (corner), 1 sc in next 2 sts; rep from three more times. (20 sts)
- Round 2: 1 sc in next 2 sts, 3 sc in next st (corner), 1 sc in next 4 sts; rep from three more times. (28 sts)
- Round 3: 1 sc in next 3 sts, 3 sc in next st (corner), 1 sc in next 6 sts; rep from three more times. (36 sts)
- Continue in the same pattern, increasing 2 sts per side in each round, until there are 26 sts between corner increases. (108 sts)
Edging:
- Work 1 sc in the back loop of next 14 sts, ch 1, mark ch, skip the next st, sc in the back loop of next 28 sts; rep from three more times. (108 sts)
- Rep this round 5 more times.
Finishing: Sl st into the next st, cut the yarn, pull through, and remove all markers.
